Functional Neurological Symptoms for therapists and Nurses: Introductory Course - 16th-17th April 2015, London
This two day introductory course provides therapists and nurses with an overview of functional neurological symptoms covering topics including pathophysiology, assessment, treatment and other key management issues.
A broad perspective on this disorder is presented by medical professionals with a special interest in this field including a neurologist, neuropsychiatrists, specialist nurse, cognitive behavioural therapist, occupational therapists and physiotherapists.
This course aims to combine theoretical knowledge with practical application using video case studies and workshops to help consolidate learning. The course is suitable for qualified healthcare professionals practicing across all clinical settings.

This is an informal gathering of NHS professionals providing treatment for patients who present with functional (medically unexplained) neurological symptoms. The networking day offers a chance to share our practice, ideas and dilemmas and learn from each other in this challenging and developing field of work.
Participants in previous years have included psychotherapists, counsellors, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists who offer treatment for patients with functional neurological symptoms. We would also welcome attendance from service commissioners and managers.
